Public feedback: One neighbor expressed concern that the large size of the home would create a precedent for other, larger homes in the neighborhood.
Discussion: The key issue is that the petitioners need to raise the floor of the basement because of a very high water table on the property. There was considerable discussion about the size of the home and how the petitioner is basically asking for the council to ignore the rules on the calculation of floor-area-ratio given the height of the basement relative to the original ground level. There was also discussion about the future of trees on the property and the extent of non-permeable surface.
